Listen to Water Safety with Health Educator, Emily Jewkes.

As the water begins to rise this Spring here are a few things to remember regarding water safety:

  1. Talk to your children about the dangers of being near high/fast water in rivers and dams. Make sure to keep them within arms reach anytime you are near the water.
  2. Be cautious around river and dam beds. With high water levels, the surface closest to the water can be unstable with crumbling or uneven banks.
  3. Don’t go into the water after someone who is in trouble. Rescue from shore and get help.
